LONDON - Arsene Wenger has given the clearest indication yet that he will not sell Alexis Sanchez this summer as he told his star striker to fire Arsenal back into the Champions League.

Sanchez spoke last weekend on Radio Sport in Chile of his unfulfilled "dream" to win Europe’s top club competition.

His comments fuelled the feeling that he was preparing an exit but Wenger will demand the 28-year-old honours the last year of his deal if he still refuses to sign a new one.

"We have played for 20 years in the Champions League," said the Arsenal manager, who has not been in contact with the Chilean since his latest comments.

"That’s 17 years before Sanchez arrived and three years with him. So he can get us back in there. The decision has been made and we will stick to that. The decision is not to sell."

Sanchez has rejected Arsenal’s offer of a new contract thought to be worth more than £300,000 a week and wants £400,000.
