Johannesburg - Cash flow should not be a problem for Mamelodi Sundowns, who have the richest owner in the league and have boosted their coffers with nearly R20 million in prize money this season.

The Brazilians will pocket R10 million for claiming the PSL league title, while they have already picked up R4.5 million for winning three of the four Absa Premiership quarterly awards, as well as R4 million for winning the 2015 Telkom Knockout competition.

They would also have received R800 000 for participating in the MTN8, making for a total of R19.3 million.

And there is also still the CAF Confederation Cup to play for, for which the winner receives $ 625 000, nearly R9.5 million on today's exchange rate. According to media reports, club owner and mining magnate Patrice Motsepe does not take a cut of the winnings and allows all prize monies to be distributed to the squad, on a pro rata basis according to appearances.

This is not officially confirmed, but should it be the case, players could be walking off with up to R600 000 each in bonuses, based on a rough estimate of a squad size of 30.

Apart from the CAF Confederation Cup, the Brazilians have one more piece of unfinished business still this season. Having wrapped up the league title last week, they are now chasing the record highest number of points earned since the PSL switched the 16 club format. That record is currently held by last year's champions, Kaizer Chiefs, who racked up 69 points.

Pitso Mosimane's side are currently on 68 points and end their league campaign when they clash with Platinum Stars in Pretoria on Saturday, 21 May. Sundowns hold the record for the most titles won in the PSL era, which began in 1996 - seven
