CAPE TOWN - Mamelodi Sundowns are the current African champions and also boast arguably the best goalkeeper on the continent in Denis Onyango.

But Pitso Mosimane and his team are aiming to defend their Caf Champions League title successfully, and have brought in another top goalkeeper in Razak Brimah, who hails from Ghana.

The 30-year-old Brimah will face huge competition for the No 1 jersey not only from the ever-present Onyango, but also the experienced Kennedy Mweene, as well as Thela Ngobeni.

Brimah is a direct replacement for Bafana shot-stopper Wayne Sandilands, who has joined Orlando Pirates in the current transfer window.

Sundowns said in a statement on Tuesday that Brimah featured for Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations final against Ivory Coast this year, where his team lost 9-8 in a penalty shoot-out.

Brimah has played in Spain and Portugal, and joins Masandawana from Cordoba FC on a five-year contract.
