JOHANNESBURG - Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana striker Thamsanqa Gabuza was arrested for allegedly beating his girlfriend. Reports say he spent a night behind bars on Sunday, for abusing his girlfriend last week.

Gabuza’s girlfriend, Boitshoko Tala, called the cops after the alleged beating. They, in turn, placed him in a holding cell at the Sandton Police station.

She also opened the case of common assault against him,  as she claimed he manhandled her when an argument broke out between them. Boitshoko also accused him of stealing her belongings worth R40, 000.

It is also reported that Police spokesperson David Mothapo confirmed that Gabuza was indeed arrested by saying that “the suspect was arrested and charged with common assault and theft.”
