Gulbis moves into top 20

Paris – Latvia's Ernests Gulbis has broken into the world top 20 for the first time in his career thanks to his defeat of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final of the Marseille Open on Sunday.

The 25-year-old from Riga moved up five places to stand at 18th in the latest rankings.

Top ranked Rafael Nadal consolidated his big lead by winning the ATP tournament in Rio de Janeiro and he is now 4,000 points clear of second-placed Novak Djokovic.

Australian Open winner Stanislas Wawrinka is next best, but the Swiss player is over 5,000 points adrift of Djokovic in third place.
