Durban - uShaka Marine World invited flamboyant Somizi Mhlongo to spend the day with his Durban fans at the park.
On Saturday crowds gathered to take selfies and meet and greet the star as part of the theme park’s “Splash with a Star” programme.
Dressed in a camel wrap-around top, paired with brown shorts and orange painted toenails, Mhlongo was excited to be in the city.
The celebrity, who juggles being a choreographer and Idols SA judge, now has a reality show called Living the dream with Somizi, airing on Mzansi Magic on Wednesdays.
The stylish Idols judge said his reality show was doing very well so far, considering it has been on air for just under a month. He will also release a fitness DVD next month.
The colourful veteran of SA showbiz, Mhlongo has been in the entertainment business for almost 30 years.
At 13, he starred in the Broadway musical Sarafina, travelling the world for five years. His love for choreography began with the movie. He was involved with the Miss South Africa pageant from 1998-2008, the Fifa World Cup 2010 opening and closing ceremonies as well as those for the Afcon 2013.
