Durban - The country’s most loved rock band, The Parlotones, has brought the first leg of its new tour to Durban. The Parlotones Orchestrated starts on Sunday at the Botanical Gardens.

The special performance will see the band performing a scintillating display of contemporary, classical versions of their extensive discography, together with a chamber ensemble.

“Orchestra was arranged by Brendan Jury because he is classically trained. With this tour, we will be performing with other musicians who are part of the orchestra.

“Our fans can be prepared to be blown our way and we are looking forward to Durban be-cause it’s our first performance for this year in the city,” said Paul Hodgson, a band member.

The four-man band, consisting of Kahn Morbee, Neil Pauw and brothers’ Glen and Paul Hodgson already have a string of hits under their belt and, in 2015, they completed three successful tours of South Africa, a tour of Europe, and the US, and have achieved massive international acclaim for performances with Coldplay, Starsailor, Snow Patrol and Blue October.

“We have had a successful career.

“The tour is our first step, we’ll see how it goes but we are positive as a band because we have performed with a large instrumental ensemble and people loved it,” said Hodgson.
