Battle of the big butts

Johannesburg - Move over Nicki Minaj, it’s time for the Hannahconda.

The forever twerking Miley Cyrus this week shared an Instagram snap of an oversized derriere attached to her no less famous behind with a caption “A** so fat need a lap dance”.

The pic pokes fun at the cover of Nicky Minaj’s ‘Anaconda’ album - her second jab at the Starships singer.

In August, the pop star superimposed her head onto the ‘Anaconda’ artwork. Minaj was not impressed.

“Give me one good reason why Miley made this her twitter avi. #AnacondaOniTunes (sic),” she wrote.

Miley’s response was to post a similar image, this time with the caption “Hannahconda”, a tongue-in-cheek reference to her Disney child star days as the character Hannah Montana. Again, Minaj reposted the image, adding “No chill ZONE!!!”.

Perhaps a battle of the big butts is on the cards, and now a third contender has thrown her hat into the ring.

The Ellen Degeneres show posted a picture on Wednesday, of the popular host sporting large hoop earrings and a headband and frayed denim shorts on a significantly larger behind as she twerked, or at least attempted to, in front of Nicky Minaj.

Ellen, however, was only doing it to punt her show, adding the message: “This is happening. Five more days until the season premiere. #Anaconda.”

Miley announced her decision to quit the raunchy move comes after she watched Nicki Minaj twerk during her performance of 'Anaconda' at the VMAs in Inglewood, California recently.

Speaking to MTV, she said: "I've retired [from twerking], yeah. I'm making some music right now with The Flaming Lips. It's different. It's a little psychedelic."

When speaking about how 'Anaconda' had beaten 'Wrecking Ball' for the most views in 24 hours, Miley said: “With that ass ... I ain't got that ass. I can bring that body, I can bring that wrecking ball, but I can't bring that ass. Not that Anaconda.”

Miley was awarded the Video of the Year prize for the catchy hit at the ceremony - Tonight Reporter
