Jeremy Clarkson has moved back to the Oxfordshire estate where his former wife lives.

Clarkson, who is fronting a new motoring series for subscription service Amazon Prime following his departure from the BBC, is said to enjoy weekend stays in a cottage in the grounds of the £2.5million Cotswold property.

He is also said to spend time in the main home with his estranged wife, Frances Cain, and their three children.

The pair married in 1993 but split several years ago. It was the presenter’s second marriage following his divorce from Alex Hall in 1989. Clarkson, 55, is now in a relationship with event organiser Phillipa Sage, who is said to accompany him to the house.

While the couple stay at his luxury London flat during the week, they are said to regularly visit the Chipping Norton home at weekends and during his ‘down time’.

A source told the Sunday Mirror: “He likes to pop to the main house for meals with Frances and their three children.

“It is a fairly unconventional set-up – but Jeremy has always been unconventional. He used to be in London most of the time but since leaving Top Gear he has been back to his country property more often. The position of his property in the grounds means he can discreetly come and go as he pleases.”

Clarkson was axed from Top Gear in March for punching producer Oisin Tymon.

He then signed a deal with Amazon, along with his former co-presenters Richard Hammond, 45, and James May, 52.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos revealed it had been ‘very, very, very expensive’ to acquire the trio, with suggestions the deal is worth £160 million over three years.
