What do Caitlin Beadles, Tameka Foster and Lyndell Locke have in common? They were all unknown and then dated celebrities.
An unknown Beadles was once romantically linked to Justin Bieber and will for ever go down as his first official girlfriend. Foster is the notorious make-up lady that singer and buddy to Bieber, Usher Raymond, dated, impregnated and married. Although they have two sons, Usher handed her divorce papers. The one who must really feel the pinch of a break-up is Locke who used to date Beyonce. Apparently they were together for about nine years, but she left him when he was caught cheating. Now he ponders what his life could have been like with the superstar.
This is what you will see on Atlanta Exes, a new reality show that focuses on the lives of a few selected former love interests of famous people.
First on the list is Foster, now calling herself Tameka Raymond although she divorced the R&B star a few years ago. The surname carries a lot of weight and opened many doors for her after life with Usher. There is also Christina Johnson, the ex-wife of CeeLo Green. The Forget You singer probably wrote that song for her. Then there is Monyetta Shaw, R&B singer Ne-Yo’s ex-fiancee. They have two kids but thanks to the singer’s failure to remain faithful, they had to break it off.
undefinedThe most interesting inclusion has to be Torrei Hart, Kevin Hart’s ex-wife. They share two kids and a whole lot of drama. She is obviously still in love with him, but he has moved on and on Atlanta Exes we see how she constantly refers to him.
For you, the viewer, this is good TV, but it is mind-boggling that someone would try and make a living off the name of their ex. Think about it. You end a relationship. The details do not really matter. Would you then want to publicly profit off a union that had failed? How would you even explain that?
What these women fail to realise is that all they will ever be known for is dating famous people. Even Kim Kardashian rose from that, and a few relationships after Ray-J we don’t even know why she’s famous anymore.
But there is no doubt that Atlanta Exes will be a hit. It does offer a less glam side to our famed and loved celebs because we all know how a scorned woman can be.
