Brooke Mueller's court date has been postponed until the New Year.

The troubled actress - the ex-wife of actor Charlie Sheen - was due to appear before a judge at Pitkin County District Court in Aspen, Colorado, on December 19, 2011 to face a charge of assault and cocaine possession, but District Judge Gail Nichols has granted an order for her to appear next on January 23, 2012.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Arnold Mordkin said in a statement: “Defendant’s motion to continue her appearance on December 19, was granted. Per the Order from Judge Nichols, she is to appear next on January 23, 2012 at 10.30 a.m. Defendant was ordered to be personally present at that time.”

The 34-year-old beauty - who was arrested in Aspen, Colorado, earlier this month – has checked herself into a “long-term, in-patient treatment centre” in a bid to get sober and clean from drugs after abandoning her previous plan of being an outpatient at rehab.

Her representative Steve Honig explained: “After further reflection and consideration, Brooke has decided to remove herself from the media spotlight and has entered a long-term in-patient treatment centre where she can focus on her recovery without distraction.”

He insisted Brooke will keep custody of her two children Bob and Max - who she had with Charlie - and they will be looked after by their regular nanny at their family home. - Bang Showbiz
