Kanye West is in the news again, although not for the reasons he would have preferred. With “Watch the Throne”, his much-anticipated collaboration with Jay-Z, currently occupying the number one spot in 23 countries, West got the internet buzzing with a clumsy fall during a concert in Bergen, Norway, earlier this week.

Treating fans to songs from his fourth album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”, the 34-year-old West was in the middle of an energetic performance of his hit “All of the Lights” when he failed to find his footing and collapsed onto the stage. After laying on his back for a few seconds, the Chicago rapper was soon back on his feet and working the stage.

At a press conference, West took the opportunity to thank his fans for supporting his “Watch the Throne” project, but slated the press for trying to “demonise” him.

“You know how I feel about the press,” he said.

“I hate the press. They try to take my sh*t out of context. They try to demonize me, but it don't matter because my fans are always there.”

Last week, the musician took exception to criticism over the promo video for his song “Monster”, which features dead models hanging from chains around their necks. West felt the video had been unfairly labelled as “misogynistic” and then bizarrely compared himself to Hitler.

“I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm f---ing insane,” he raged. “Like I'm Hitler.” - IOL
