London - Bruce Willis is an action movie “guru”.

The 57-year-old actor takes on the role of hero John McClane for the fifth time in A Good Day To Die Hard and Jai Courtney – who plays his son Jack – loved picking up tips from the veteran star.

Speaking at the movie's premiere at the Empire Leicester Square on Thursday, Jai told Bang Showbiz: “I've got a list as long as my arm. I learnt a lot from a guy like Bruce. To knuckle it down to specifics, is hard. He's a veteran, he's a guru, he's been at the top of his game for so long, I'm still very much a student. I consider myself somewhat of an amateur still. The whole movie has just been an incredible experience, I just try and absorb as much as I can from the people I work with.”

Director John Moore cast the relatively unknown Australian actor in the high-profile role of Bruce's on-screen son because Jai reminded him of the star.

He explained: “This guy is the real deal, he's an incredibly gifted actor, but he's also got a real physicality that I haven't seen since Bruce.”

John also admitted he was worried about working on the latest movie as it has such a loyal following.

He said: “It's not any old franchise, it's not any old audience, you mess with this audience at your peril. We wanted to deliver for them.

“You don't screw around with the Die Hard audience... they'll come and find you. I think we got something special done. “

Bruce braved freezing temperatures and sleet to meet his fans at the premiere, where he happily signed autographs and posed for pictures. He was joined by his wife Emma Heming. - Bang Showbiz
