Django Unchained star Jamie Foxx claims he and Katie Holmes are just good friends, but the evidence suggests otherwise.
The two actors were snapped in a studio last week looking decidedly cosy, with Foxx holding Holmes’ hand and gazing at her, with his legs intertwined with hers.
According to UsWeekly, the pair have secretly been dating for over a year.
On Friday, Foxx denied the rumours, claiming he and Tom Cruise’s ex were “just friends” and were working on a project together.
“Oh come on you guys have been trying to make that stick for three years, we're just friends,” said Foxx when questioned about the nature of the relationship by gossip site TMZ.
“As a matter of fact Anthony Zuiker, creator of CSI, he offered us an animation project and we're working on that.
“They have been trying to do that for three years – just stories I guess,” he added, with a smile.
“You just have to respect – that's just part of our lives.”
According to the UsWeekly report, the pair have been “secretly spending time” together, and rumours of their alleged romance have been around for years.
Holmes finally divorced Cruise in 2012 after 6 years of marriage. Interestingly, Cruise and Foxx came to blows during the filming of their 2004 film Collateral, two years before TomKat walked down the aisle.
An UsWeekly source claims Foxx and Holmes started dating in 2013 when he “wooed her at a benefit in the Hamptons”.
“Jamie is someone she can trust and have fun with,” said the source. “She's getting everything from Jamie that she didn't get with Tom.”
The source added that Foxx refers to Holmes as “my girl”, and that dates consists of dinners at home and sleepovers.
The story further states that Foxx has ditched his “ladies man” lifestyle in order to make Holmes his number one woman.
