Kerry Katona wants to open her own rehab centre.
The 32-year-old reality star wants to use her past experiences of drug use and bipolar disorder to help troubled women in similar situations and is planning to set up a facility to help people beat their problems.
Kerry exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “I would love to set up a reborn centre, that's what I want to call it, for women who can just find themselves again. For people who are on medication and try helping them get off it. It will be an exercise-based facility that's for women who can sit there and discuss their problems and come away for a week. Like a retreat. I'd love to do that, but I haven't got the money!”
Kerry credits her own boot camp experience for helping her kick her cocaine habit and says she had her first “natural high” after a vigorous workout.
She enthused: “Exercise save my life. I went to boot camp and coming off my medication it was like coming out of a coma and the fog being lifted and going on, 'Oh my god, what's been going on?' I had my first natural high.”
The Atomic Kitten singer has put down her experiences in a “brutally honest” autobiography, Still Standing, and thinks it can help women overcome their problems, because she has suffered from every kind of issue possible.
Asked whether her autobiography had more of a message than the likes of Tulisa or Cheryl Cole's, Kerry said: “I think mine's completely and utterly honest, there's no lies in there, it's just brutally honest. There's definitely a message in there, there's people with mental illness who I'd like to read it and addictions and people who are through bankruptcy or money troubles or going through divorce, I've done it all.
“Even one of those things to go through on its own is heart wrenching and you think, 'I can't take this any more'. You can, and you will get through it and there is light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully this book will help.” - Bang Showbiz
