Bollywood’S favourite couple Hrithik and Sussanne Roshan’s controversial split has caused an uproar in tinsel town.
While both have given conflicting statements to the press about their separation, there are talks about a possible settlement between the couple.
Following the success of Roshan’s latest movie Krrish 3, Sussanne has allegedly asked for 100 crores (about R16-million) from the actor as a divorce settlement.
A film source claims that Sussanne has asked for this amount as she does not consider it to be a huge sum for alimony, keeping in mind that it will go towards their two children's upbringing.
Negotiations on a settlement between Hrithik and Sussanne's lawyers are continuing.
Rumours were previously spread about Roshan’s affair with actress/model Barbara Mori.
Sussanne has opted to keep mum about the reasons behind her split with Roshan, whom she married on December 20, 2000.
Roshan announced his ex-wife’s decision to end their marriage during a press conference on December 13, just a few days before their 13th wedding anniversary.
“Sussanne has decided to separate from me and end our 17-year relationship,” said Roshan.
“This is a very trying time for the entire family and I request the media and the people to grant us our privacy at this time.
“I do not wish this news to disempower my fans and the people about the institution of marriage in any way,” said Roshan.
“I am a firm believer in this institution and respect and honour it at the highest level.”
