ROCK on tomorrow as the Sir Walrus Band perform at Live, The Venue, 166 Mathews Meyiwa (Stamford Hill) Road, Morningside.

The band comprises Ruben Thomas (bass), Jonathan Judge (sax), Sebastian Goldswain (guitar) and Brian Stone (drums).

The group is a new groove-based electric instrumental outfit and can be considered one of SA’s most exciting young bands in any style. They are known for writing catchy melodies that stick with the listener, before diving head-on into improvisation and musical exploration, as well as for superb tight performances.

The band will be supported by 7th Son, which exists on the sharp side of “rude, rock, reggae”.

It wasn’t long after the release of their first self-produced album, Fire in the Rain, that the band began touring the country regularly, playing at all major clubs and festivals.

l Tickets R50. Doors open 8pm. Call Bronwyn at 082 967 2179 or visit Live, The Venue’s Facebook page. – Tonight Reporter
