GIG OF THE WEEK

Laurie Levine & Rowan Stuart

KZNSA Gallery (tomorrow)

JOBURG-based Americana/nu-folk artist, Laurie Levine, teams up with Durban’s Rowan Stuart for a concert at the KZNSA Gallery tomorrow.

A press release states that Levine has been nominated for multiple South African Music Awards and has won two Standard Bank Ovation Awards, powered by her unique voice and rich, poetic storytelling. She has toured South Africa and the UK and her albums have received critical acclaim.

Stuart’s songs have been playlisted on more than 20 radio stations across southern Africa and he reached Top 20 chart success on East Caost Radio for his debut single, Late Starter.

He recently released his first acoustic album, Hidden Doors, which showcases his brand of alternative acoustic music, incorporating elements of folk, pop and world music.

Expect a double-bill at the KZNSA Gallery which will include first-time collaborations between the two. – Tonight Reporter
