GIG OF THE WEEK

Dan Patlansky Tour

Barnyard Theatre, Rivonia (Wednesday)

Dan Patlansky’s new offering, Dear Silence Thieves, has had a good run so far. The album was voted the No 1 Blues Rock Album in the world late last year by the Blues Rock Review in the US, with Patlansky’s name picked from among blues guitar-playing greats like Devion Allman, Phillip Sayce and The Black Keys.

Having just completed his international acoustic tour, Patlansky is back on home soil

to indulge his South African fans. Starting at Sunninghill’s The Barnyard Theatre (Rivonia Crossing 2, cnr Witkoppen and Rivonia roads) the tour will reach Cape Town, Pretoria, Wellington, Stellenbosch and Bloemfontein.

If you haven’t already heard the legend play live, now would be a good opportunity to find out why he’s ranked one of the best. The tour runs for only one month as he has to promote the album in the UK. Other countries like Switzerland and Germany are also waiting in line for Dan the Man, so best you catch him while you can! – Munya Vomo

• The event at Barnyard Theatre starts at 8pm and will cost R150 to get in. For more details, call: 011 467 6983. For more tour dates and venues:
