Venue change for Metallica shows

Big Concerts announced this week that the venue for the Metallica concert in Cape Town has changed. The group will now perform two Cape Town concerts at the Bellville Velodrome on the 24th and 25th of April. According to the Big Concerts press release, this has been done to allow fans the chance to watch Metallica in a “dynamic indoor live music setting”.

The date and venue for the Johannesburg concert will not be affected.

Fans that have already purchased tickets to the Cape Town stadium concert will have to exchange their tickets as follows:

All Golden Circle Standing and Seated ticket holders who purchased their tickets from Computicket for the Cape Town stadium performance must present and exchange their tickets at any Computicket outlet for a new ticket to either one of the performances at the Bellville Velodrome on the 24th or 25th April 2013.

General Admission Standing ticket holders for the Cape Town stadium who purchased their tickets from Computicket are valid for the 24th April 2013 performance at the Bellville Velodrome, and no exchange is required.

All ticket holders who purchased their tickets from Big Concerts through will receive an email with specific instructions on how to exchange their tickets.

Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo collectively known as Metallica, are one of the most influential and commercially successful rock bands in history, having sold 110 million albums worldwide and playing to millions of fans the world over. Metallica have garnered numerous awards and accolades, including nine Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, and multiple MTV Video Music Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.

South African Tour Dates:

Wednesday 24th April 2013 – Bellville Velodrome, Cape Town

Thursday 25th April 2013 – Bellville Velodrome, Cape Town

Saturday 27th April 2013 –FNB Stadium, Johannesburg
