Chris Martin has been caught up in a love feud between his new rumoured girlfriend Annabelle Wallis and her ex lover.
The Coldplay frontman has found himself embroiled in a bitter war between the TV star and her former flame James Rousseau after photographs recently emerged of the new couple looking intimate on a dinner date in New York city.
A source said: “Annabelle and James were together for a long time and it hurt him to see the picture of Annabelle looking cosy with Chris.”
Shortly after the snap shots emerged online, the handsome model-turned-actor decided to take subtle revenge on his ex-girlfriend by posting an unflattering photo of her, half asleep, sporting a double chin on his Twitter account.
The insider told The Sun newspaper: “Posting the horrible photograph of Annabelle was his way of lashing out.
“She then had to get him to remove it, which he did, but she was furious.”
Chris - who has children Apple, 11, and Moses, nine, with estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow - and Annabelle sparked romance rumours after the singer-songwriter was spotted with his arm around the actress as they “talked intimately” and gazed into each other's eyes at Lucali in Brooklyn.
The new relationship comes just two months after the 38-year-old star split from Jennifer Lawrence, 25, because the 'Silver Linings Playbook' star was too busy with work.
However, the blonde beauty - who starred in 2011's 'X-Men: First Class' alongside Annabelle - doesn't seem to be bothered by how fast Chris has moved on and is reportedly enjoying the single life.
