DINGALINGS Productions brings to the stage their version of the children’s classic, Cinderella, over the school holidays. Kumseela Naidoo said they decided to bring the show back because of popular demand following its hit 2010 sold-out run.

“There has since been a demand and we thought the time was right. Last year’s offering was the popular Red Riding Hood. We have included some important life lessons like the importance of being kind, reading and good manners. This is all done through the antics of the ugly stepsisters, played by Koobeshen Naidoo and Henry Ramkissoon.”

The show is a lively, interactive one with elements of song and dance. “Above all, we’ve stayed true to the romance of the story. So everyone can prepare to be enchanted … All the patrons that come dressed in costume are included in the ballroom scene where Prince Charming will choose a bride,” she said, encouraging everyone to get involved.

The play is directed by Ramkissoon and, besides talented comedian Koobeshen Naidoo as one of the ugly sisters, it features Kumseela Naidoo as the Fairy Godmother, Nirvana Naidoo as the wicked stepmother and young Nickeel Ramkissoon and Yuvaan Naidoo as the page boys. Katinga Baserello plays Cinderella.

This holiday outing offers double the fun as there is a boat ride around the harbour after the show.

On Tuesday, June 26 Dingalings will host 40 HIV/Aids orphans and mentally challenged children. They are appealing for any organisation to sponsor goodies for a goodie bag and boat ride at R20 per head. To make a donation call Kumseela on 083 793 9969
