Michael Palin travels from the lost world of Amazonia to the buzzing metropolis of Rio de Janeiro to meet some of the 192 million people that call this land home. Starting from the border with Venezuela, he meets the Yanomami people. Hunter-gatherers and feared warriors, they now have to use their survival skills in the political arena as they battle gold diggers and loggers who are encroaching on their territory.
