This is the story about two women who have known each other since childhood. Ángela Valdez is a poor, modest and humble girl whose parents work for the influential family of Sandoval. The Sandovals’ daughter, Samantha, has a bodyguard, Miguel Valdez. One day she is kidnapped and he saves her life, but pays with his own. This incident bonds Angela and Samantha – they believe they have to be strong and brave enough to defend themselves and protect other people. They vow to stay together and protect the weak and vulnerable. However, circumstances intervene and the two have to part ways.They lose contact with each other till many years later when a chance meeting leads to them both becoming bodyguards – destined to protect again.
