Sir Michael Caine turns 80 this month. Caine has appeared in more than 100 films and is one of Britain’s most recognisable actors. In honour of his birthday, TCM will screen two of his most memorable movies.

• George of the Jungle, M-Net Movies Showcase, 19.00

An abandoned baby is adopted by an ape. When he saves a woman from death during a safari, they form a bond and she takes him back to the US with her.

• Dangerous Grounds, Travel Channel, 20.00

Coffee magnate Todd Carmichael is the Indiana Jones for the java generation. His business depends on sourcing coffee so extraordinary it’s sought after by the world’s top chefs. Whether he’s attacked by bats, driving in some of the world’s most treacherous terrain or dangling high in the air on a makeshift zip-line, Carmichael frequently risks his life in places such as Haiti, Bolivia, Madagascar and Borneo, tracing his way to mountain enclaves where the best coffee fruit hides. Buying directly from the growers means he faces opposition and danger from entrenched middlemen, too.
