CATALINA THEATRE: What You Laughing At? A comedy featuring Dhaveshan Govender, Shika Budhoo, Maeshni Naicker and Kogie Naidoo. Runs Thursday to December 2. THE PLAYHOUSE: Cape Town City Ballet – who brought us Cinderella and Giselle – have a short run this week of Coppelia. The show is based on the story by ETA Hoffmann, and performed to the music of Leo Delibes. It tells the story of an eccentric inventor, Dr Coppélius, who makes life-size dolls. When a villager, Franz, falls for the doll Coppelia, the doctor sees an opportunity to trap Franz and sacrifice his life in an attempt to bring his creation to life using a magic spell. But Franz’s real love, Swanilda, is not about to let that happen. A great family enter-tainer. Tomorrow and Thursday at 7.30pm. Friday and Saturday at noon for schools and 7.30pm. Sunday at 3pm. THE BARNYARD THEATRE, Gateway: Catch The Seven Wonders until January 6. Experience what it would be like for Elvis Presley and Christina Aguilera to sing a duet, Whitney Houston to croon with Bryan Adams, while Bob Marley keeps up the spirits with songs such as One Love and Three Little Birds. Carlos Santana adds mystery with She’s Not There and Smooth, and Chris de Burgh brings his flair with A Spaceman Came Travelling, Don’t Pay the Ferryman and Lady in Red, and more. THE HERITAGE THEATRE: To celebrate the festive season The Heritage is staging a selection of the best party songs to see us ending the year with a bang. Expect music from Maroon 5, Bryan Adams, Bruno Mars, Kings Of Leon, Coldplay, Queen, Sting, Journey and many more. The show is fronted by Barry Thomson with Marion Loudon and Jerryn Fosteras. Musical director Dawn Selby is on keyboards. On drums is Mali Sewell, with Jason Andrew on bass and vocals. R195 Wednesdays to Saturdays and R165 Tuesday evenings and Sunday matinee.
