USHAKA MARINE WORLD: On Saturday, uShaka Marine World will reverberate with the sounds of African drums as more than 60 dance troupes will perform the indlamu and ingoma – the traditional dance most often associated with Zulu culture and based on warrior war dances. It’s time for the annual uShaka Marine World Zulu Dance Championship in association with the Department of Arts and Culture. Registration is at 9am with the shows starting at 10am. THE PLAYHOUSE: In Blood Musical will be staged from Thursday to Sunday. Written and directed by Bukelwa Cakata, this show features a cast of 80 with various disabilities sharing the stage with able-bodied dancers. It centres on Duduzile, a blind village girl, whose uplifting story of perseverance to attain success, love and prosperity, regardless of life’s hardships, continues to touch audiences. VARIOUS VENUES: Mark Banks & Karou Charou – Double Trouble stages this month. Banks is a comedy legend and won the Lifetime Achievement award at this year’s Comics Choice Awards. Mark has appeared in comedy festivals such as Bafunny Bafunny, Mass Hysteria and Kings and Queens of Comedy. Karou has, over the years, amassed a loyal following who love his fresh, high-energy, in-your-face routines. The audience are almost always part of Karou’s show, and this one is no exception. This is the first time the duo will be appearing together in a show that is suitable for all ages. On Friday, November 28 at Arena Park Hall in Chatsworth. R80 at B Nagiahs.
