Renowned for its memorable dining experiences - Selborne Golf Estate, Hotel and Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of their new Executive Chef, Earl Larkin, who brings over 24 years of culinary experience to the table. Chef Earl will look to make his mark with exciting and inventive new menu offerings that will uphold Selborne’s longstanding reputation for serving dishes that are meticulously prepared with the finest ingredients and guaranteed to pleasure the palate.

His passion for fusion cuisine stands out in a host of new taste experiences that resonate with delicious hearty and wholesome meals that boast strong, bold flavours.  “I have always had a love for preparing food and experimenting with flavours, this is my passion,” says Chef Earl.

“My aspiration with the menu is to create lasting memories by engaging all the senses, which will be achieved by embracing Selborne’s ethos of preparing meals with the freshest ingredients and served with a choice of the finest South African wines,” he explains.

Born and raised in KwaZulu-Natal, Chef Earl’s culinary journey began when his zeal for creating exciting dishes led him to pursue a career in culinary studies at M L Fulton Hotel School. He honed his skills as a Chef at Fedics Food Services, Victoria Country Club and most recently during his 9 years at Sun International managing Sun City’s Conferencing and Banqueting facility.

“We are very excited to welcome Chef Earl to the Selborne team and look forward to taking our dining experience to new heights - whether it is in the relaxed atmosphere of The Terrace, the more formal elegance of The Lord Selborne Restaurant, the convivial atmosphere of Barker’s Bar or opting to dine-in in our beautifully newly renovated rooms,” said Tim Spencer, First Hotel Operations Director.
