Cape Town - The Royal Portfolio’s La Residence in Franschhoek has been voted The Best Hotel in the World by Condé Nast Traveller magazine’s readers.

The announcement was made at the annual Readers’ Choice Awards, which rate the world’s best cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines, hotels and resorts.

La Residence is encircled by vineyards, plum orchards and olive groves. It represents the epitome of grandeur and grace. From the lavish suites and villas to refined dining and uniquely crafted wine-tasting experiences, it radiates sophistication.

“I am truly honoured and humbled by the award and I am pleased South Africa has been recognised internationally as a luxury destination,” says Liz Biden, the owner of three exclusive private hotels, including La Residence, operating under The Royal Portfolio umbrella. - The Mercury
