Cape Town - In celebration of Tourism Month, the Robben Island Museum, in partnership with the National Department of Tourism, will be hosting an open day on September 24 (Heritage Day).

On the day, the museum will be giving away 1 600 free tickets to South Africans for a return trip to Robben Island.

The free ticket includes a ferry ride to and from the island and a tour of the island where visitors can visit late President Nelson Mandela’s prison cell.

Free tickets will be issued via community radio stations, local newspapers and NPOs.
