London - For over a year, this antique teddy was abandoned at Bristol Airport, waiting for his family to come and collect him.

The 100-year-old toy was found with a photo, dated 1918, of two young girls cuddling him.

Despite trawling flight records and launching a public appeal, airport staff failed to track down relatives of the girls, named Dora and Glyn according to an inscription on the reverse of the picture.

Now rightful owner Robert Glyn Baker, who used to play with the family heirloom as a boy, has come forward, after the Mature Times, a newspaper for over-50s, featured the bear on the front page.

Mr Baker, who lost the toy en route to Cyprus said: “I was stunned when I saw my bear. I thought it was lost forever.”
