Having visited quite a number of the National Parks in South Africa, I was intrigued to review A Walk In The Park to discover if the book had any information which a regular visitor would not already know, or which a new visitor could not find on the SANParks website.

What a surprise the book was. Instead of simply listing the facts about each park, the author is able to draw one in through her fascinating stories and experiences about these areas.

Regular visitors will definitely want to return to explore areas and do activities not ordinarily known about but that are mentioned in this book.

The facts about each park are well covered, including information about type of accommodation and facilities available, for example.

A well compiled "to do" list about each national park and surrounding area will ensure that readers take this book along on their travels to explore the area fully.

The stories reflect the soul of each park and surrounding area bringing them to life and allowing one to better understand where they are ultimately going on holiday.

In summary - the story-telling abilities of the author make for an interesting, easy read, which has me itching to explore the national parks I have not yet visited and to re-visit those that I have.
