London - Whether it’s lazing on a beach for two weeks or roughing it in hostels around the world, apparently our holiday choices aren’t fuelled by desire but by hair colour.
Ginger? You’d prefer a safari holiday. Brunette? You’ll opt for an adventure break. Bald? It’s backpacking all the way.
According to the survey of 2 000 people by Hotels.com, blondes are the hair colour most likely to want sunbathing at 41 percent; those with black locks came out on top for booking ski trips at 13 percent; while most people with grey tresses (35 percent) opt for a countryside retreat.
Surprisingly, gingers, such as Prince Harry, favoured safaris more than any other hair type at six percent, even though more than half of red-heads cite their biggest holiday fear as getting sunburned.
Thrill-seeking brunettes are most likely to go for something wild, such as hiking, kayaking or rock climbing (11 percent).
And those with no hair are most likely choose a backpacking expedition (six percent).
Kate Hopcraft, Hotels.com spokesman, said: “Our research shows an additional way of looking at how we choose our holidays … based on our hair.
“While you would expect a countryside retreat may be preferred by those with grey hair, it is fantastic to see our ginger population enjoying the excitement of a safari over other holidays; we just hope they pack plenty of sun cream.” – Daily Mail
