The beaches of Frégate is known to provide a vital nesting habitat for two species of sea turtle: the endangered Hawksbill Turtle and the endangered Green Turtle. During every nesting season from October to January, the island’s conservation staff safeguards and monitors the nests. 

Travellers have the chance to witness first-hand the sight of a female turtle laying her eggs on the shore. A truly magical experience.

Unforgettable angling – Alphonse Island
