Corrupt ‘servants’ must be chopped

Comment on this story

So finally Zuma has fired Bheki Cele. One rotten apple in the barrel gone.

However, what guarantee does the public have that the new appointees will be less corrupt, and more hardworking and honest, than their predecessors?

When will Zuma deal with officials in the SAPS who have spent R35 million on cars and R81m on overseas trips and fancy hotels and parties?

There is widespread corruption at all levels.

The taxpayers have a right to demand that the government, who are servants of the public, bring those responsible for corruption to book.

Officials feel entitled to fast cars and fancy lifestyles while the poor are without jobs, food and shelter.

The “fat cat” mentality is condemning this country to a dismal future.
