GAUTENG Premier Nomvula Mokonyane has showered praise on Pippie Kruger’s medical team, saying she had been following the young burn victim’s emotional story.
Pippie, 3, was badly injured in a braai-lighting accident on New Year’s Eve. She has been on a ventilator since her surgery last week, and will gradually be removed from the machine over the next few days.
“I am humbled by the medical team, led by Dr Ridwan Mia, and want them all to know how proud the whole of Gauteng is,” Mokonyane said.
“We hail little’s Pippie’s fighting spirit as she, more than any other, demonstrated the will to live – even when the odds were stacked high against her.”
