JOHANNESBURG - Buildmax, the listed opencast mining contractor and building materials supplier, has been awarded a contract worth in excess of R800 million to provide open cast mining services to Mzimkhulu Mining at the Mzimkhulu Colliery near Ogies in Mpumalanga.
The value of the contract, which was awarded to Buildmax subsidiary Diesel Power Opencast Mining, includes plant and funding costs.
Buildmax said on Friday that the contract had commenced last Thursday and was for a duration of 48 months.
The company said that it was delighted to be awarded that contract, because it was in alignment with the group’s growth strategy, while also ensuring employment for the local community.
