CAPE TOWN – Nexign, a Russian- based company that is a provider of business support system (BSS) for communications service providers (CSPs)  will be focusing on establishing its presence in Africa.

Ahmad Sayed, Regional Director, Middle East and Africa at Nexign believes that expectations from consumers on the African continent are very high as they want the best services, state-of-the-art technology, and at a low cost.

The company made the strategic decision last year to expand its customer base in the Middle East and Africa, as well as globally.

Sayed told Business Report that the African market is the company's largest focus at the moment.

"We see the African market as a great focus with great potential for growth and we plan to further investment in the country as partners have been responding positively to our products," said Sayed.

Nexign wants to provide operators with the required technical advantage, a strong commercial offering as well and help them transition much quicker to a digital environment.

Established in 1992, Nexign has been doing business for 26 years with headquarters in St Petersburg, Russia.

Nexign offers a range of products especially with the focus on the Internet of Things (IoT) platform that allows customers to enhance and manage their business requirements.

BSS Product Director at Nexign Maxim Nartov told Business Report in an interview that even though the telecommunications market may be more or less saturated, IoT allows for more opportunities to be created in the sector.

"If IoT grows, it will make our lives easier in many perspectives by giving better control of products and services and provide better visibility and transparency with consumers," said Nartov.

Compared to their competitors, Nexign offers 25 percent to 30 percent total cost of ownership of the product or service.

The company also believes that their experience in the BSS market ensure that their developed products can be considered to be the best available.

“Combining our technical credentials with flexibility around pricing provides the African market with a strong package as it looks to embrace the shift in digital transformation. With immense potential for business development activities on the continent, we are eagerly looking forward to the months and years to come", said Sayed.
