Cape Town - Stage three load shedding will be implemented from 6pm to 10pm on Tuesday, Eskom said in a statement.

“Eskom will move from stage 2 to stage 3 load shedding at 18:00 today, which is expected to continue until 22:00. This is due to a further shortage of generation capacity as additional units have had to be taken out of service for unplanned maintenance caused by technical faults,” the power utility said.

Stage three loadshedding means the system is vulnerable due to a shortage of electricity and the state electricity supplier needed to shed about 4000 megawatts of power to prevent the system from completely collapsing.
