JOHANNESBURG
- Former Eskom Chairperson Ben Ngobeni and the current Eskom board has had to answer questions to the signing of a letter approving Molefe's early retirement and subsequent payout which was then overturned by Public Enterprises Minister Lynn Brown.
Molefe's pension payout of 30 million was calculated by "buying" 13 years of extra service for him. Molefe worked for Eskom for 16 months but received a nine million rand payout, this despite him being on a short term contract, which should have excluded him from being a member of the fund.
