1. Anglo American Platinum says it will see profits 

Anglo American Platinum announced that it expects a fourfold increase in first-half profit after operations improved and metal prices rose.

The company is expected to report a profit of up to R3.42 billion. Its share price up 3.5%.

2. Unions will meet with Eskom today to give feedback on the power utility’s wage offer. 

Eskom initially offered a 0% increase, but has since hiked it to 7.5 % for the first year, followed by a 6.5% and 6.25% hike for the following two years.

3. Shoprite is expected to release its fourth quarter sales and revenue numbers today.

Shoprite produced stellar performance in the half year to last December, with a total turnover growth of 6.3% from R71.297billion to R75.823bn.

4. King Shaka Airport passenger growth was in double-digits in June

 King Shaka Airport passenger data from the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) showed strong growth in June with a 10.8% year-on-year (y/y) increase. 

5.New mobile platform for Zim stock trading

A new application that enables the buying and selling of stock exchange shares has gone live in Zimbabwe, aiming to drum up participation of local traders who constitute less than 1% of investors on the Harare bourse.

6. Ramaphosa talks economy, land and optimism with Jane Dutton

7. MTN hikes up WhatsApp bundle but not for 'vulnerable customers'
