IFC buys 2.5% stake in AdvTech

Johannesburg - The International Finance Corporation (IFC), an arm of the World Bank, bought a 2.5 percent stake in South African private education group AdvTech for R190 million, the company said yesterday.

The IFC acquired a further 1.6 percent of AdvTech's stock in the market raising its combined investment to R320m and its total holdings to 4 percent.

AdvTech has targeted generating 30 percent of revenue from Africa, outside South Africa, by 2020.

Shares were up 0.53 percent to close at R15.21 on Wednesday.
