Purple: Revenue rises amid strategy revamp

ASSET management company Purple has reported an increase of 28 percent in revenue to R62.6 million for the six months to February, while after tax profit in the same period jumped 94 percent to R16.3m. The group’s chairman Mark Barnes said the group had set out on a plan to build an integrated business for investing and trading solutions. “Our range now covers the full spectrum, from short-term to long-term, from novice investor to sophisticated day trader,” he said. Purple’s number of clients rose by 71 percent. The group’s headline profit a share jumped 94 percent to 2c. Its shares on the JSE on Friday ended up 10.81 percent at 41c. – Nompumelelo Magwaza
