Johannesburg - South Africa's manufacturing output rose 2.5 percent year-on-year in volume terms in December after a 0.3 percent increase in November, Statistics South Africa said on Tuesday.
On a month-on-month basis, factory production was up 0.4 percent and edged up 2.4 percent in the three months to December compared with the preceding period.
Economists polled by Reuters had expected year-on-year growth of 1.4 percent and of 0.2 percent on a month-on-month basis. - Reuters
