JOHANNESBURG - Itumeleng Phake, founder of Zenzele Fitness Group has recently been named entrepreneur of the year at a competition held by Sanlam in Johannesburg.
A competition powered by Sanlam and BUSINESS/PARTNERS has recognised Phake's business efforts by awarding him with R160 000 to further grow his business.
Phake believes that he was chosen as the overall winner because his business profit margins have shown great growth year-on-year.
He says that being selected as a winner in the competition is a great honour and will provide the motivation needed to take the business to the next level.
Phake is the sole director of Zenzele Fitness Group and he was funded Awethu Projects to kick-start his business. The company employs over 50 employees in 13 branches located in Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg and Limpopo. Zenzele offers high-tech gym facilities which are aligned to the organisations' culture. “As long as our client can provide suitable space at their business premises, we will design, furnish, outfit, operate and manage a fitness facility for their employees, that allows them to see real results in their workforce,” says Phake.
Judges noted that Phake's business is young and limitless. It is said that they were impressed by his vision and entrepreneurial drive.
