CAPE TOWN - Google will be launching a new feature for Google Maps for Android and mobile search which will the ability to ask question and receive answers. Google is expanding its existing efforts to bring more user-generated content to Maps.

The feature allows you to ask questions about a place and answer other users’ inquiries.

For example, When finding a location in the app, check in the business’ listing and find the new Q&A section between the business’ details like phone numbers and the “popular times” widget.

Here you can add a question, answer someone else’s question, or agree with what someone else is saying by making use of the thumbs up icon.

Google is also encouraging business owners to use this for an FAQ section, and the company encourages this even more by letting them know  that business owners will get a notification when somebody asks a question.

This Q&A section is more interactive than its existing offerings,  which consist of users who review businesses, upload photos, provide information about a business and correct listings that are wrong.

So it will be interesting to see how users and businesses will use it. The new feature is available for all users worldwide.
