DURBAN - Forbes has released their list of American female self-made women and the list includes five women who under the age of 40. 

A total of 60 women are featured on the list with popular names like Oprah Winfrey and Celine Dion appearing on the list. Authors Nora Roberts and Danielle Steele were also featured on the list. 

Here is a look at the five women under the age of 40 who are self-made millionaires

Beyoncé, 36

Beyoncé Knowles has a net worth of $355 million and has also featured on other Forbes lists including Power Women 2017 and Celebrity 100 2017. Her most recent album Lemonade was her sixth No.1 solo venture and her On The Run II stadium tour with her husband Jay-Z grossed around $5 million per night.

The Grammy award-winning artist also owns a stake in streaming service, Tidal, along with her husband and the value of her stake skyrocketed when Sprint invested $200 million for a reported 33% stake of the company. 

Last year the singer and her rapper husband purchased an $88 million estate in Bel Air, Los Angeles.

Huda Kattan, 34

The self-made make-up guru quit her job in finance to become a make-up artist and now she is the owner of a make-up empire and writes one of the Internet's most-read blogs. 

Kattan started her business, Huda Beauty, in 2013 with her two sisters and today she sells more than 140 products including eyeshadow pallets and lip gloss.

The products bring in at least $200 million in annual sales and she has a net worth of $550 million. 

TSG Consumer Partners, a private equity company, acquired a small stake in her company and now it is worth more than $1 billion.

Kattan is also an influencer and has 26 million followers on Instagram. According to her, she has never spent money on advertising.

Kylie Jenner, 20

Although Kylie Jenner is the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner family, she is the richest her family thanks to her Kylie Cosmetics beauty empire. 

Jenner has a net worth of $900 million. Kylie Cosmetics is known for their $29 lip liner and lipstick "lip kits". The makeup company has since expanded to include eyeshadow, eyeliner and makeup applicators.

Her limited edition products do really well a evident in 2016 when her holiday collection made $19 million in 24 hours. 

Since it was launched in 2016, the company has more than $630 million worth of make-up and Jenner will definitely reap the rewards because she is the sole owner of Kylie Cosmetics. 

Although she is on the path to billionaire status some people are not happy with the title of "self-made" being bestowed on Jenner by Forbes. Many people are disputing the notion that Jenner is self-made and took to Twitter to air their views.

Taylor Swift, 28

Taylor Swift who has a net worth of $320 million made a comeback on the music scene with her album 'Reputation'. The album sold 2 million copies in its opening week.

Her North America tour, 1989, broke touring records three years ago when it grossed $250 million.

Besides touring, Swift has also made bank through her music, endorsements and merchandise. 

The singer also has two Dassault private jets. 

Kim Kardashian West, 37

Kardashian West who has a net worth of $350 million started her own cosmetics company in 2017.

Her makeup company KKW Beauty has generated around $100 million in sales due to the popularity of its contour kits and perfumes. 

However, the sales from KKW Beauty was not the only contributor the her fortune, Kardashian West sure did make a lot of money being in the public and Instagram posts too.
