DURBAN - FitBit has announced the launch of the FitBit Charge 3 that will be available in South Africa this October at the price of R2599.
The FitBit Charge line of products is the most popular from the FitBit range with 25 million devices sold to date.
Some of the cool new features that a FitBit Charge 3 has include touch-screen display, more than 15 goal-based exercise modes, smart features that help the wearer stay connected and 7 days of battery life.
James Park the co-founder and CEO of FitBit said, "With Charge 3, we are building on the success of our best-selling Charge franchise and delivering our most innovative tracker, offering an extremely slim, comfortable and premium design, along with the advanced health and fitness features our users want".
This device is also an upgrade from the Charge 2 because it has more advanced health and fitness features compared to its predecessor.
The Charge 3 also has features that were previously only available on smartwatches like apps, smartphone app notifications, quick replies to messages and FitBit Pay (Special Edition only).
In South Africa, FitBit Pay is only available to existing FNB/RMB Private Bank cardholders who have the FitBit Charge 3 Special Edition.
The FitBit Charge 3 is also compatible with Android and iOs devices and soon with Windows too.
The FitBit Charge 3 Special Edition with FitBit Pay costs R3099 and it will be available at local retailers.
People can also customise their FitBit Charge 3 with accessories like a graphite aluminum case, perforated silicone bands, woven bands and hand-crafted leather bands.
