Similar to SnapChat's Spectacles, produced by Shenzhen-based firm Tonot, Tencent’s Weishi glasses are equipped with a camera in the front corner which enables users to film a video.

According to Tencent, the camera on the device will be 8-megapixels and can shoot in 720p or 1080p HD resolution.

The smart glasses are expected to encourage users to record more short videos to upload to Weishi, Tencent’s short-video app-based platform

The Weishi glasses will be available on November 11th and will have its own mobile app, which allows users to pair the glasses via Bluetooth.

The app also enables remote shooting and live broadcasts that is now available on Apple’s App Store.
