WATCH: LG launches the LG G7 ThinQ device

CAPE TOWN - The South Korean electronics giant has announced its latest flagship smartphone, the G7 ThinQ at a special New York City launch event. 

The LG G7 ThinQ features a  6.1inch display with a QHD+ (3120 x 1440) resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The phone will be available in the following colours; Raspberry Rose, New Moroccan Blue, New Aurora Black, and New Platinum Gray.

The LG G7 ThinQ includes is IP68 water-resistance and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It features two vertically placed 16MP cameras on the back, and have OIS and Artificial Intiligence (AI) scene recognition software.

AI is also used in the camera brightness mode, called Super Bright Camera, according to LG. 

The dual-lens camera pairs a normal lens that has a fast f/1.6 aperture and a wider lens that has a 107-degree field of view meant for ultra-wide photos. 

The device has a  Snapdragon 845 chip and Android Oreo software. 

 Storage includes 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and a microSD card slot to help expand the amount of storage. 

The LG G7 ThinQ has one large speaker it calls the Boombox Speaker. According to LG, the speaker is supposed to provide louder audio and deeper bass.
